I'm going to start this thread here because I think /k/ would misunderstand it and send the thread in a direction I don't want it to go (i.e., recommending holsters that are not practical with backpacks, which has happened when I brought up the topic there in the past).
I have a ULA Circuit backpack and I have a revolver. How do I carry the revolver on my backpack while hiking so I can draw it fairly easily and it doesn't get in the way too much at other times, given that it's a 2 pound chunk of steel?
The best idea I can come up with is somehow attach it to the waistbelt, but I don't know anything about pre-made backpack-waistbelt holsters, and especially not one that would work with the waistbelt pockets of the Circuit (I wouldn't mind sacrificing a pocket, but only if there's no other carry option). This will be open carry, but it might be kind of nice if the gun weren't 100% wild west "at the hip," but were rather slightly out of direct view.
Any thoughts?
