Ok out, I just got challenged by my father in law to be that I couldn't spend one week in the woods. I told him to go fuck himself, if I can manage it in less than a days preptime He has to pay me a thousand dollars.

So the Question I pose to you, who all have much greater experience than I do, I've only gone camping a hand full of times and non of that was very rough.

I have to spend one week in the wilderness (North Washington, We are close to Canada.)
So I know I need to pack warm clothes and tools, I'm not trying to cave man it here, because I have no preptime so I can't get high end things, but I can grab anything from something like sporting goods store. not nightvison goggles as fun as it would be. So keep that in mind, but if you know of a good knife in those guidelines thats what I'm looking for. I'm willing to spend $1,000 since then If I win I get all of it for free and can rub it in his face.

I'm an enthusiast not a practitioner, can you help me out?
