>>838153My purchase was easy.
I looked at property online, found one I liked and called owner.
He purchased the land just to log then sold off parcels.
Told him when I was coming out (thinking he would want to meet me there). He just gave me generic directions.
I drove out there and almost guessed what plot it was (luckily I guessed correctly). Spent about 2 hours walking around it with my buddy. Called the owner while I was standing there and told him to mail me the paperwork.
Mailed him back a check and that was it.
Moving is effort.
I've done it a couple times.
Cost really depends on how much of your junk you can't live without and how much of your life you can stuff into your car/uhaul.
One move I did cost about $8k
But I drove out one vehicle with a buddy, flew back, loaded the biggest uhau they hadl and towed one car while buddy drove my other car- then flew him back home.
But if you just packed your life into your car you could do it on $300 in gas.
If you look at some of those websites posted ITT, you can find owner financed land for $150 a month.
Derksenbuildings.com has premade shells that are very popular out here. I swear half the property's have one. Its cheaper to build your own, but these won't fall down and are just dropped where you want off of a truck. They also have owner financing and can get one for anywhere from $100-$400 a month depending on size.
I actually don't make a lot of money.
But you don't need a lot.
My payments for my land and cabin are less than the shithole 1 bedroom apartment I was living in.
I had savings to get started. I had time to get situated on my property before I had to find a job. If you don't have a lot of cash saved up, you need to find a job before you start the move.
