Surely, with all of our combined time innawoods, we've had some less-than enjoyable encounters with the local animal populace? I have two stories I can recall immediately, so I'll start (1/2)

>be fishan with sister, bro (in-law) and three year old niece
>salmon snaggan, muthafucka
>be at river bank near where river fed into lake
>only other people within earshot was two dudes upstream from us
>they dressed, moved, and sounded gayer than AIDS
>been there two hours, got six salmon in my bucket
>hear sister calling for my niece
>not care
>hear her call again, noticeably higher tone of urgency in her voice
>look over to my niece
>she is standing about eight feet from the shore, looking hard into the water
>brother in law calls for niece
>niece continues 1,000 yard into the lake, not even moving
>sister starts over to grab niece
>she picks niece up, niece screams "MOMMY!"
>water starts acting FUCK CRAZY
>splashing, thrashing errywhere
>sister screams and runs towards the woodline
>babby screams and points at water
>splashing water materializes into its final form
>see a blur chasing my sister up the river bank
>bro-in-law and me: OHSHITOHSHITOHSHITOHSHIT
>cut off the foul beast from my sister

>beaver hisses at us, snarls, bares ugly yellow teeth
