What sort of processes would I need to go through in order to go off the grid? Back in the 30's my great grandfather sort of just packed up and sailed his canoe down a river until he found a spot he liked and just set up camp there. But there was also a time he bought land that was in the middle of nowhere. Is it as easy as just hiking off into the woods?
