Yes, in fact you can look up Green River Butcher Knife and get one, also be aware of the fact that knife making and steel have improved over the last 100 years.

The Mountain Men of old were limited to the choices they had on hand and it needed to perform a basic task, the natives were limited to their blades as well. You generally don't see many obsidian pieces being used while camping today.

My old hickory butchers knife (carbon steel), with the full tang and the not too thin blade it's almost cut out for outdoorsy stuff.
