I don't think I have seen an opossum here, and I'm fine with that since they are cunts. But there are fewer raccoons and squirrels and the ones here are much skinnier than in IL. I'm guessing the heat keeps their metabolism up. The raccons in IL were much more used to people as well and when you found them digging in your trash they would hiss at you or mind their business. The coons here are much more timid, even in urban and suburban areas.
Haven't seen a deer except for the Key Deer on Deer Key. And haven't noticed any coyotes yet here, but in IL I didn't have them in my neighborhood but friends that lived near forest preserves and stuff you would hear them all the time.
