Site fee: $40
Food and Water: $35
Gas: $40
Fire Wood: $20

So expensive to be /out/

Don't car camp. I can get beautiful sites on lakes, just gotta get there first (backpack)
Make food at home, or just buy the cheapest stuff you can.
Drive out will take gas, but less hopefully.
If you go near woods, wood is free.

Being /out/ can be expensive. It doesn't have to be, but it sure can be.

Take backpacking for example. Seems cheap enough, since you're often hiking and camping for free. The problem comes from gear. I've got probably $750 I carry in gear and it's not all that high end stuff (a few things are). That adds up. Figure in gas to drive to your destination, fuel, food, ect. It can begin to be expensive.

Really though, especially for backpacking, the entry fee is high with buying geae, but once you get your gear, and figure out your food, it starts to get cheaper.
