>>894760Why the hell not, one thing is certain, the best /out/ places in France are in the south so don't hesitate. Without saying the north is ugly, it's just that almost all our mountains and most our forests are there.
The Alps and Provence are really a classic but I have a weakness for the Pyrenees. Less crowded with tourists but the scenery is as spectacular, and I don't know exactly why but I find them to have a different atmosphere, more mysterious, maybe because of all the Cathars castles there, megaliths and shit
Otherwise I mostly go to the south of the Massif Central range, pic related. The mountains are smaller (around 1000-1200m) but the landscapes are great, very forested or very rocky with excellent climbing spots, canyoning, fishing, hunting etc. They start less than 30mn away from where I live so it's convenient.
Where do you go /out/ where you live ? I recently asked the British thread on this board for some pics because I'm pretty interested about touring the UK although I'll probably start with Spain first
