I love that car. It's cheap, reliable (its a Kia!) and also very eager to go forward.

If I had the money it would have been a secondhanded Saab, Volvo or even a Lancia if possible..

If you're not too determined on seeing Hungary, I would recommend going at least to Slovenia, they've got some awesome caves (check Škocjan caves).
If I might change your itinerary a bit more, from there you could travel through Croatia (visiting places like Rastoke, Split or Trogir, especially Rastoke, just look it up) all the way south to Metković and from there to Bosnia. You want to see Mostar, there are relicts of the Yugoslav Wars everywhere, as well as some nice old architecture and lots of souvenirs (even non-shitty ones). Now the road from Mostar to Sarajevo through the valley of river Neretva is stunning, I've only been there by car, but by train it must be even more awesome. Very nice piece of land. Avoid Sarajevo though, it will spoil the total picture so far. Next go to Belgrade, which is a nice city, be sure to see Kalemegdan, a fortress with military museum and a view on the point where river Sava flows into Danube. From Belgrade continue to Romania as you would otherwise.

Hope you will find my advice interesting, I'm speaking from experience.

Oh, and in the previous post I forgot to explain. Metković is only where you cross to BiH. While you're down south, you should check Dubrovnik and THEN backtrack to Metković and onward to Mostar.
