Unfortunately, in my area (NY metro), the police pretty regularly patrol the abandoned buildings in the area, and there really is no abandoned buildings too far from civilization. My hometown (Newark NJ) has a shit ton of abandoned places, but they're all filled with homeless and crack heads. Had too many scary run ins so I stopped. The most fun I've had urban exploring is along old inactive railroad tracks, and in an office building in Downtown Norfolk (figured out the door code from worn buttons, people are dumb). The power worked and everything, had a party or two on the roof.
