>>902146Thanks, anon! From left to right they are:
Lola - Golden Retriever - 10 human-years old
Juno - Siberian Husky - 5 human-years old
Jake - Min-Pin-Poo - 4 human-years old
Lola is the unquestioned matriarch pack-leader. Lola knows about life and death. She has outlived another of our dogs (Foxy - Pommeranian - 18 human-years old at time of death) and feels her December days creeping up on her. She was once athletic and ran beside me while I skateboarded around the block. Now, she only makes it half the distance and can only walk the entire way. We've kept her cheery with nice, quiet trips to the woods in the winter and take her swimming in the summer.
We've had Lola and Jake since birth, but Juno was a rescue we adopted on New Years Day 2016 (previous owner suffered a heart-attack and could no longer care for her). She loves to run, and I take her every morning so she sleeps in the afternoon and doesn't get into too much trouble. We're coming up on one year and she's made her own place within the pack. Although she's older and bigger, Jake was here first and she respects that.
Jake is almost 5 - the prime of his life! - and the only dog in the pack brave enough to ride shotgun in the kayak. He's been out into Barnegat Bay, down Cedar Creek, and has even braved the radiation of Oyster Creek here on the Joisey Shore.
