My cousin wants to move into the woods and live like Ted Kaczynski did.

Do you know any books that I can give him that will teach him everything that he needs to know while at the same time showing him just how difficult it is to live off the grid? I'm hoping some knowledge will discourage him and make him move on to another hobby.
