I have a 1.7 litre Kelly Kettle - I generally just use it for boiling water which it does extremely well.

Feeding sticks in the top makes it easy and efficient to use.

I've never cooked on it but I believe there are attachments that sit on top but I can't imagine it being all that good because you'd have to keep taking them off to fuel the fire....? Maybe someone else has more experience than me on this.

I keep it simple and use the Toaks titanium stove / cookware set. Current setup is the twig stove, one 750 mL pot, and a 350 mL cup. Designed to all nestle together for convenience.

Is stability not too much of an issue?

My preference is usually my MSR Whisper light. Can be used just about anywhere and a litre of fuel (I tend to use Aspen 4) lasts me around 6 days

It would be feasible to shove small twigs in there but given the size it's not really practical with quickly gathered wood - you get a far faster boil with less messing about by dropping fuel straight down the chimney as per design.

It is what it is. Too heavy for hiking, but for boiling water with twigs it's the best thing you can get in my opinion. The chimney design with water around it makes boiling time a lot lower than just a potover a fire - and it won't really get messy either

Also, most places in the US don't recycle those disposable fuel canisters people use with their jetboils. Seems like a waste.

I bought a klean kanteen, a coghlan stove and liquid heat for 50 dollars and it stung me to spend that much, even if you have a thousand dollars to waste, what makes these 100 dollar pieces of kit so special?

I have the cook set that goes with it and being that it fits inside the unit its actually on marginally larger than my 2L billy and is boils more economically with fuel.

I am happy with it, if you dont like them dont use them but for me it is enjoyable and easy and I dont have to worry about fuel.
