It's still fishing, not catching, so theres no guarantee, but I usually end up with enough jack and hoos to go out for a half day of fishing within an hour.
Or you can go to any tackle shop and buy all the bait you want, probably won't be too cheap tho, and sometimes they brine what's already dead and idk if your lizards would take to that or not.
Just fyi also you'll suck ass at throwing for a good bit, and smaller nets are significantly easier to throw.

I like the Mini Mites or 1/16oz underspins with ~1.5" minnows or grubs. Run them on my Sienna 500 with 6lb braid. Small Rapalas, those tiny 1/8oz Rat-L-Traps, and Mepps Agila #00, #0, and #1 are all good too but sometimes the really light hard baits can be difficult to work if you have a cross wind.

With my ugly stik spinning rod I can't tell if im getting a bite or stuck on a rock because I literally won't be able to feel anything I'll just see the rod tip bend. For the same price or a tiny bit more I could get something that actually has feeling. Not to mention trying to work a jig or something when your rod is super bendy is terrible.
If you like ugly stiks then use them. No one really cares. There's just better stuff out there.

If I wanted to do that, I would get a ~2000 size reel (a little larger than UL but not quite M) and spool it up with a bunch of 6lb braid or possibly 4lb mono if you are going to stay around 1/8oz lures a lot. Then get a nice long rod, like 7'-7'6" which will help with distance and try to find it in UL with nice fast action or L, just something that will load up welp with that lure weight and get you the distance.

I worked commie boats for a few years and it was illegal to keep by catch. 25# stiff mono. and yup on the melting mono. looks good when you dip them in epoxy to make a eye ball. I bought a bag of premade eyes sometime ago that I still use, I never have time to make eyes. and most of that extra detail shit is more for the fisherman than the fish..

Set your drag right and use a leader of tougher line when fishing for really big stuff or anything with teeth and I guarantee it's possible to land up to 50lbs fish with an ultralight rod and reel and 6lb test line. Spiderwire has been my top brand for years it's tough as nails. I use 50# Spiderwire to make my catfish/gar leaders because it's cheaper and lighter than steal leaders and still doesn't die to the gar teeth. After I land a gar I can just clip on a new leader and get my hook and swivel from the old one to make a new one.

i have an idea of what motor i could get and what boat i want to buy, but i want some input about the process of buying a boat (for fishing).
i know that you'd have to deal with a title/registration (im looking at used ones) on motorized boats and something about registering it with the DMV .
the boat im looking at is less than 14 foot, though.
anyone here have an idea how the process goes? (im in jew yoik, btw)
also, is it possible to launch a (small, motorized) boat (like a RIB) off a beach? is it legal?

Am I the only one who thinks this could actually be a decent reel? I mean 50%+ of the cost of any other reel comes from the brand name, R&D, and paying for Kevin Van Dam's mortgage. Not much of the actual money is paying for the product itself.
Now imagine some Chink company just copies high end reels, doesn't have to give shit to KVD, Bass Pro and Cabela's aren't making their 30% profit on it, etc.
When you buy a $300Shimano, you are probably paying like $80 for the actual labor, materials, and logistics getting the reel to you. So if you buy a $100 Shishamo, you are probably paying for about $80 worth of reel shipped to your door.
I wouldn't actually buy that one but there are a whole lot for $30-$40 that would probably be $100 reels with an Abu label on it. It would be fun to abuse the hell out of it.

The batteries turn over and engine works and most electrical stuff works but there's green shit in some metal parts. There's mold underneath on the cushions and shit. There's broken stuff everywhere. And there's lights that don't work and the toilet smells horrible and only works half the time.
My idea was grab a buddy or two and a shit-ton of bleach, windex, sand paper, bilge cleaner, dish soap, and start going to town. Anything I'm missing? Dust masks for the mold? Power washer? I'm clueless.
Oh, and it's drydocked. Can't pump bilge residue in water and no hose nearby on drydock...and no idea how to pump the toilet tank clean.

Even better braid like PowerPro, I think you are often paying a lot of markup to the retailer. My guess is that the higher profit margins for stores come with things like line and hooks, which is why a 300yd spool of Power Pro is $30+!at Bass Pro but you can catch sales at Dick's for <$20. There is some cheap PowerPro on eBay too but I just don't want to end up with cheap knockoff line.

There's no aquatic plants in the streams/rivers down in the water itself. In the lakes there are some aquatic plants, but I've never had trouble with the hooks actually snagging it. I only bring that in when the fish on the hook wind around into it as I'm reeling them in.
There are no top water plants like lotus, duckweed, or lily pads here either. The best cover you can hope to punch through is a flotilla of Styrofoam bait containers.

They are a tiny bit smaller than Super Flukes but bigger than the Jr's and they have a slot on the top as well as the bottom so the hook stays in there and comes out super easy when you set it. Plus it is like the only soft bait you can rig weedless like that and use the same bait for days because the hook can be poking through the plastic but the tip still sits in that slot so it won't snag on shit.
