I have an old pair of Bushnell. Hate em. Bought a new pair of Celestron astronomy binocs a few weeks ago. Build quality is surprisingly good for cheap Chinese made gear. If you're looking for best value, I'd say look at their catalog.

Ignore the guy recommending a monocular. Unless you're doing very structured things(like range finding) you'll hate it. They're very uncomfortable to hold while looking through if you need to focus on one thing for more than a few seconds.
