NICE!! I'm (was) the elusive jewish scout. I was the only jew in my scout troupe i don;t really know how it was decided but the dads made me chaplain. it was a nice gesture so i graciously accepted but man was it an awkward moment when they pulled me aside to explain their reasoning. they went out of their way to say how much they appreciated my culture and what it brings to the troupe-- i literally lived (and was born and raised) on the same street as two of them.

pretty cool nontheless! I have a thumbsaw like that as well but not nearly as nice. make sure you don't bend it too much, stretch it out as straight as possible while sawing with it. also it's great for garroting feral cats and hobos

I also gave out silver rounds and ornament capsules for Christmas. People can't complain when they get silver or gold for Christmas.

I was a scout too but it was LA so I don't think Jews were rare. I quit scouting at the end of middle school because our troop was fucking worthless though. (We only went /out/ like once a year and the rest was just boring-ass waste of time meetings.)

I actually want a Nest really fucking bad. I live in a separate apartment thing behind a house and don't have my own HVAC controls, so my room turns into a furnace in winter and a fridge in summer when it gets left on, and I have to get dressed and go outside and then back in if I want to turn it on or off. (And I'm fucked if the main house is locked.)

A Nest would let me control that shit from my room.

I live 5 mins from the ocean in SoCal. I turn on our heater for 3mos out of the year to keep a minimum 62 degrees. During the summer it doesn't get over 85 and we don't have an AC unit. So a Nest was a waste for us. Fyi I'm sitting outside in shorts and a t shirt... in January. Only good thing about this state is the physical land/weather.
