Has anyone ever tried these before? I've been wanting to buy these for a few years now, but the company that sells them seems to be elusive to Europe only. Just recently their website started using English.
The price also went up a good chunk, used to be 45 Euros if I remember correctly.

Why would you want these. Regular socks will be warmer than toed socks. Just like mittens are warmer than gloves. Also you will look like less of a fag with normal socks.

These aren't a shoe replacement retardation thing. The idea is to prevent toe blisters. I don't have personal experience with them but I know people who they have worked for.

The only thing that would still worry me would be nails. However, that is ultra rare there is a board with a nail hiding somewhere. Though, I have found one, luckily my barefoot years taught me to react fast to pain and it only just poked through my shoe.

I'd like to try a pair of those socks, but that price and not knowing how long they last is the real kicker. The "tread" are little drops of stuff stuck to the bottom. The tread on my normal shoes gets eaten up rather quickly. I'd hate to drop $80 on something that would only last about a week for me.

Now, if you pair them with sandals that'd be great since they will not wear out and glass in sand and mud wouldn't slice up the sides of your feet.

OP's pic says "kevlar-socks" so presumably they actually are a shoe replacement. I'd imagine the kevlar makes them resistant to abrasion. ie. Walking in them without shoes.

was thinking some particularly active activities. sandals are fine for walking or running on trails and stuff, but there's still the risk of them being less than sub-optimal when things get really tight and/or wet. as you mentioned, it's probably price-prohibitive if anything

Yeah, they are glass-proof. But, they use Dyneema now instead of straight up kevlar (aramid) because it is the better material now.

I've had these shoes for 2 years as my general use/running shoes, They've held up pretty well so far.

I wouldn't want to go hiking with them but for pretty much anything else they work nicely.

I'm not sure if they make this particular model anymore but the model they've got on amazon seems similar enough.
