Stone age general?

there's something about using homemade stone tools to do stuff, like chopping down a tree, shaping wood, shaving, or grinding flour, that feels so right.

I have a small collection, to list off the stuff I know I've made.

>bone shank, from a deer leg(lost)
>2 crappy arrowheads, I flintknapped from the bottoms of beer bottles
>1 descent arrow head from the other half of the deer bone(still have the rest of the bone)
>atlatl, /w bamboo dart(need to add head to it)

I really want to make a stone pipe using traditional methods, but I have no idea how they made the drill to create the holes or what they used to shape the bowl.

Where do you guys get chert and flint to work with? I really don't want to knap glass due to the mess I understand it makes. Also I live in an apartment so it's not really feasible to do it anywhere else.
