The NPS was trying to advertise national parks, and was focus testing advertisements with minorities.
Because hispanic folks tend to be very family-oriented, when they showed them advertisements of mexican guys camping in the parks, the general response they got back was literally "Why is this guy out there by himself, did he do something bad and is hiding from the law?"
This cause a general change in how they advertise apparently, and they started putting more picnic tables in for large hispanic families.
The last part kind of pisses me off, I know they are for the enjoyment for all americans but like, please keep it nature-y and don't fill it up with shit and destroy nature so huge families can come in and destroy it more ;-;
