I have the Z-rest, and it is quite comfy and has a nice insulation for its wheight if you use it at good conditions.
But use it on snow, or anythiing soft that fills the little egg crate gaps on the bottom its comfyness will get less.

They are FOAM, but not the simple, almost impossible to destroy foam you get on a bog standard foam mat.
