Very cool. I'm stuck here in Pennsylvania. It's not so bad, but there's not many woods near here. All the outdoors around where I live is city and I hate it.

This is what I like to find. Pic is a hot spring not on any maps, had heard about it, a few clues. Took several years to find. Turns out there is an old map in a county courthouse that has this, also on old USGS maps, but got left off most recent maps. A little more popular than it used to be. No trail to it, except one is getting worn in, so I try to obscure it when I can.

The far hose is 135 degree F water; the near hose is about 60 degrees F, so temperature is controllable in a fairly good size pool. Plastic liner has drain in the bottom so it can be cleaned out. Bucket and brushes stored nearby.

Awesome, a place we use to go many a year ago in the Gila National Forest had a Hot spring just like this one. I really miss that place :(

Another hot spring. This one is Molly's Hot Spring, in Idaho, also known as "The Duke" because supposedly John Wayne liked to hang out here. The road in the background is closed to motor vehicles, has been re-routed. Hot springs are pretty much always the goal for all my inna woods activities.

This is Trail Creek Hot Spring, one of two stream-side pools. This is close to the road, so it gets quite a bit of use, on the way to Warm Lake, Idaho.

I'm not going to name this little gem, because it is actually less well-known than the "secret" one in my first image. It is a three mile walk or mountain bike ride from a popular reservoir in Idaho, 40 dirt road miles from the nearest highway. For years this one was just a rumor, because the trail to it seems to end before you get there, so you have to follow a series of seeps up a very steep hill. The water comes out of cracked granite, piped to a rock-and-mortar tub built on a natural rock shelf. This has a drain and a cleaning brush stored nearby.

This is another tub around the corner from the one just above. This one is really hot, being smaller than the previous one. The water comes out at about 150 degrees F, so it cools by a combination of pool volume and spilling over rock, cooling as it falls into the pool. All of these springs are in Idaho. I don't know of any other state that has so many so close together.

This is my preferred method for getting to hot springs. The best ones in Idaho are at least two to three miles from a road, otherwise we have people called "Jack Holes" who trash the springs with beer cans and other trash. cool pics OP. I didnt know this was something people could create and leave out in nature. I went to something similar near sitka alaska. No clue near where, but we took a boat out to some island.. Nearby islands had pillboxes and large bunkers, but the larger one had hot springs? on it..

My shithole town is in the NW of the UK. It's kinda set in a bit of a valley. You don't have to travel far to find a bit of country.

I absolutely LOVE getting stoned and walking hills with my camera.
