What is is that you actually don't like? Clearly they are interested in the culture and think that the beliefs and ideas of it are interesting and relevant, so they try to implement them.

If I see a Japanese guy rapping I don't think "dang he is stealing from black people" I see a guy who really likes something trying to put his own spin on it.

I don't see why people get upset about other people enjoying their culture. That is how culture evolves and survives, by people adopting it and transforming it. Insuluar cultures that don't allow outsiders and have unsustainable populations are cultures/languages that die.

I've personally seen where people buried shit thinking it was going to disolve or increase soil fertility or whatever, but what can happy really easily is you end up with anaerobic sludge that can sit dormant for years without ever decomposing, while potentially hurting soil quality and in some instances screwing up ground water.

There is no expectation of privacy on public lands, out in the open. So the LEOs aren't doing anything illegal. Oh man, it's easy to tell that most of you have never even heard of the rainbow family let alone attended one of their gatherings. I've attended regional gatherings in Ocala, Florida. It's an interesting time. Not for the faint of heart. I recommend just going to an actual /out/ meet up instead of hanging out with a bunch of homeless people in the woods. Shit can get very real very quick.

Many of them didn't make an active choice to live this lifestyle but for many of them it was just an unfortunate side effect of their horrible upbringings. Many of these people come from broken families, foster families, or are runaways. Many of them suffer from undiagnosed and diagnosed mental issues. Many are criminals hiding out from the law. Many are drug addicts. While an interesting social experiment in communal living, It's not all fun and games like many would like you to believe. It's a sad reality for those who are truly family. In the middle of the night, when you hear their cries deep in the wood, you will realize you are in their world. Far away from help if problems arise. I have seen what the Shanti Sena do to those they deem a problem. A fate I wish on no one.

In my experiences the only times I ever saw actual uniformed officers was miles back at the entrance to the dirt roads. Inside the actual gathering and near center circle I never once saw a uniformed officer. The shanti cenas were the only entities I saw policing the general gathering. I don't think the family and those of like minds would appreciate openly armed goers and I would worry it may entice the more mentally unstable of the bunch to stir up trouble. Now I would and have conceal carried at such events and I have met other individuals who do the same. My only word of advice about that is don't make it known in any way. Seriously. Word spreads fast around the gathering and speculation runs rampant. Don't assume you are the only armed individuals.
