Good morning /out/siders! Let's talk about killing an animal the most humane way possible.
I have been raising chickens for the past year mainly for an egg source. But lately I have noticed that the coop is a bit to small for all of them as they are all grown up.
I am raising jersey giants and frizzles and I have been thinking about eating the jerseys.
However I have never killed an animal before in my life and I'm not sure how I would feel about doing it.
I know the basic technique of killing a chicken but I am not sure how I would feel afterwards.
I'm getting my huntings license soon as well, I'm fine with the gore of gutting, but I am not sure how I would feel after killing the animal. I know that I am not killing them for fun, ill be hunting to provide my family with a food source.
Can you guys share your first experience killing your first animal for a food and how you felt afterwards. Is it something you get over after a while?
