Wind will destroy those walmart tarps. Its worth it to get a nicer one, youre basically spending 40 for a nice one or 40 for 4 walmart tarps you can keep switching out.

Just get a tyvek tarp off amazon, hand made, usually good quality, cheep, and waterproof

I like treated canvas tarps, but they're harder to find, and expensive. I don't like the smell of cheap plastic tarps. Just a personal preference. Can't think of any meaningful benefits.
