Honestly, fishing is kinda fun. I prefer the cast, and forget about it. Fishing to me is a survival skill and yoyos or trot lines to catch fish while I check snares or cut fire wood.

The problem lies... I really don't like fish. Salmon I do, all those different white fish fleshed species need a metric fuckton of spices, butter, coconut butter, and Sriracha.

How do I cook fish so I actually want to eat fish?

people will tell you to be patient and you'll think it's obvious
you need to be patient
unless you fish for a living or to actually feed yourself, it's not about the fish, it's about the experience

people will tell you all about bait; for the most part it doesn't seem to matter what bait you use, just make it something the fish could swallow and maybe jiggle it every now and then
