I'm going on an overnight camping trip with a vegetarian, and I'm allergic to peanuts.

Suggestions for high-protein meals?

You don't need high protein food for an overnighter.
Just get what both of you like eating.
But if you'd want to feed yourselves for longer, I'd recommend lentils (soak them during the day to reduce cooking time), hard-boiled eggs, milk powder, hard cheese and oats.

If you have a local Indian store look for their ready to eat meals MTR makes some good ones and they go for about $2 a piece. They are a bit heavy (10 oz a package) if you had to carry a bunch of them, but for an over nighter they would be great. And at the price you can get a few of them and have a full on multi course meal. I am not even vegetarian and I think they are pretty tasty.
They can also be ordered online.

Lentils or beans + something to make them taste less bland. If I'm going on a short trip I like to bring a fresh vegetable. I always bring a little spice container.

If its one night than theres no reason for high protein food, rather opt for a high carbon diet. The first thing that comes to mind is ramen noodles or something of the sort.

Depends all on you possibility to prepare it/store it.

You can bring canned beans and dry rice. If you live in the USA, I recommend "Lundberg Wild Gourmet Blend Of Wild & Whole Grain Brown Rice" and "Bush Grillin' Beans Sweet Mesquite". Ratio of about 1 can of beans to 1/4 to 1/3 cup of rice. Add a strip of cheddar inside and reheat until the cheddar melts. Any tortilla wraps will do, but the bigger the better. You of course can use any beans, rice, and cheese you want.

that plastic is an epoxy substance which contains BPA which is bad for you even if you don't heat it. It's not going to melt but it might leach chemicals into the food. They're slowly taking it out of the market. But you'd need to eat 10,000 cans to get sick.

Also, most canned foods are pre-cooked in the can to kill off bacteria. Pretty sure that includes "baked" beans. I don't see how cooking it a 2nd time could be bad.

The point is to make it warm so it tastes better not to make it safe to eat.

I looked at something like this at the time but it had a brush motor so I gave it a miss. It was basically a cheap motor like in a hair dryer and not designed to do big hours.

It costs that amount you'd spend on a cardboard box, some hardware cloth or screen, and a 60 watt light bulb. You don't even need a fan, if you design the inside so there is good airflow from normal convection. You don't even need the light bulb if you make a solar dehydrator.
