Hopefully the rain keeps more people from moving here, and they don't hear about how dry it is over on the east side.
Granted, Bend and Spokane have their own issues and you're going to have a hard time finding work in any of the smaller cities, but living on in the eastern foothills of the Cascades is great.
Go west for mountains, snow, rain, foliage, trails, etc. Go east for sagebrush, canyons, and space.

If you live way down in the southwest near Dickshooter then you can just go to Nevada where essentially everything is owned by the BLM.
