Anyhow, especially with modern glued boots why would you ever think heat is a good idea? I mean shit, you want to take a bumper sticker off your car you grab a hair dryer to melt the glue. How would heat not damage your shoes? I've seen way too many over-cooked boots to abide this. You could go from having damp boots to having no boots in the blink of an eye.
Dirt is the best way. You're advocating socks... socks would prevent your feet from getting cut up. Or you could, you know, dump the dirt out BEFORE you put your boots back on? That was the idea, sorry if we didn't spell that out for u.
