He wasn't the greatest, but he also wasn't half bad. He did what he did well and probably better than anybody else on this board ever did. His problem was that, apart from providing critique, he was actually just a self-absorbed asshole. Nobody thought he was badass. Everybody just thought he was an annoying cunt.
