Personally for color, I resize then on gimp pick the 2 colors that will represent the 01-10 since 00 and 11 are black and white. If you really wanted to you could force the camera to be full color by shooting with a red filter, blue filter, and green filter and merging the photos together and mapping the respective photos to their channels. Some (most) people in this thread are full of shit and are just editing in post.
