This area is a sub-alpine peatland in the summer so it might be absolutely crawling with no see ums, mosquitos and deerfly when the weather is fairer. It's one of my favorite mini biomes to hike through though, alongside that altitude where the trees are kept about 10 or 15 feet tall from the high winds and everything is covered in a deep layer of moss and lichen that I can only assume is moistened by the summer fog rolling off into the valleys every morning.
