still life, food, portrait, and basically anything photography done in a studio is about making a picture not just taking. You devise what composition, photo you want to take in your head (and/or just drafting up on paper) then go and make it, start to experiment with lighting to see how you can achieve what you want, etc.
Yeah this means it needs creativity but hey, a streetshitter sleeping on a bus photographed in blackandwhite was never the peak of the art
