>>4414261The 75-300 is hot garbo, it is confirmed, but Canon might be the single best for animal AF and birding in general
>inb4 mfturds proclaim muh reechSell off that 75-300 and get either:
>EF-S 55-250 f/4-5.6 IS STMCheap as shit, fair aperture for the price, light as all hell, and gets you 400mm equiv. zoom on your crop sensor. Optics are very good for an EF-S lens.
OR:
>EF 100-400 f/4.5-5.6 IS USM IWhich is meant for fullframe but is optically better and gives you much more reach with your crop sensor. It's like 4x the weight of the EF-S lens here, but comes with Canon's signature beeg-white-lens energy.
You could also opt for something like the:
>EF 70-200 f/2.8 IS USMWhich is also heavy, a bit more expensive still, but gives you a wider aperture, and not that bad of 320mm equiv. zoom on crop. This would be a slightly autistic buy unless you plan on going fullframe canon at some point.
>I trust nikon's optics to be decent. But can their speed of focus compare?Nope.
>Kit also came with telezoom and wideangle/macro extenders, are those worth anything?Sort of. The macro extension can be quite handy if you want to dabble n macro. The wideangle/macro will slaughter your IQ all odds.
I wholly recommend just get the EF-S lens here, as it's like $150 and would be quite sufficent for /bpd/ quality pics.
