>>4448504Do not use a wide angle. 50mm and up make people look better. 80mm and up for medium format.
Use BW film. People love bw and don't realize it. It hides a lot of skin imperfections.
If you've got a camera that shoots squares (any 6x6, Zeiss Ikon Tenax) try some shots with that. Instax or Polaroid too if you've got one of those systems.
And don't open the aperture too much. F2.8 is plenty fast. Try to have the whole face in focus. Use the background to create subject separation instead.
