It's not a bad camera at all, and yes all of the potential issues can be mitigated and/or ignored, but I think it's still one of the worst value M cameras.
A great condition M4 costs maybe 1500$-1800$, meanwhile an equivalent M6 can be up to and above 3k. That's potentially another grand or more for a light meter.

Leica lives on the laurels of its analog years, not on the merit of their current digital cameras.
