Some advice for you, OP :
— camera settings : find a way to nail focus more consistently. Higher ISO, smaller aperture, faster shutter speed, maybe a flash. Did you use Auto mode?
— composition : I get that narrow streets are a bitch, but your vision looks pretty aimless and the result is mediocre.
— back of head photography is inexcusable, it's fucking Halloween, it's the perfect excuse to make people pose!

auto iso, 1/125, at this time F1.7 and Manual focus at 0.7m or 1m or 2m depends on my mind and the room front of me.
I usually use at least F4 not F1.7 when using hyper focal distance though.

I shot everything on a little 40mm f2.5 and that new godox mini ttl flash

You mentioned the TTL flash, but did you shot with manual setttings?Or check the EXIF of your photos, my guess is that the shutter was set at a very slow speed (below 1/30)
Honestly not a bad look it works with this setting

I took the shots while i'm just walking around the places. So no wonder why they look like screencaps of CCTV frames but which closely moves around the civilians i would say.
