>NO FULL FRAME IS NOT FULL ITS SMALL FORMAT SEE NOW WE BOTH SUCK >:'(It's called full frame because it's the largest standard size for digital sensors. The next largest size isn't a widely used standard, only has a half stop DR advantage, and a lot of copes to get there. it is not just a more expensive better version of full frame like full frame can be a more expensive better version of micro four thirds. it is severely hampered just to squeeze out a little more quality. Anything truly larger is so impractical you might as well shoot 8x10 film unless you need it every day. We're talking about cameras that cost $20,000+ and have shit for any features other than exposure controls and a shutter button. Anything smaller is at its best, functionally a cheapened, lower quality version of an FF flagship, or worse, a pure cope camera entirely built to a price point (like canikony APS-C).
Anyone who thinks otherwise is trying to be a gearfag with all the whining and none of the knowledge. Probably from being so stuck in the top end four thirds to entry level FF zone that they forgot everything else existed, including people with jobs that pay more than $65k a year, and actual photography businesses (not the same thing kek!)
Maybe in 5 years sensor technology will make crop medium format as useful as pic related or the a9iii. Fuji is trying very, very hard, and has made good progress for anyone who doesn't "need" better autofocus or faster framerates, but it's not quite there yet... and it's not even a full 0.5x crop factor difference.
>Pixel shift is a nifty feature4x5 film is just a nifty feature and people aren't using it for much other than landscapes and still life because of a lack of models that will hold still for 1/4-1/15 plus the time to focus it. That's why the introduction of pixel shift to full frame sensors relegated 4x5 to art photography.
