Shooting with a newbie photographer for portraits of our class at the streets tomorrow night. The concept is faint silhouettes against a similar mood as the image attached. I suggested bringing a speedlight and triggers because the area we're shooting in has inconsistent and weak lighting. We'll also have limited time, and she can't come early to scout the area for herself. She wants to ditch the extra lights and rely on her prime lens since "we're doing portraits." "It'll be a fun challenge for you," she says, despite me doing this shit for three years and knowing already what I can and cannot do with bare bones.
While I wouldn't give a shit about someone else doing their own thing, the photos need consistency. I'm also the one processing everything afterwards. How can I salvage the shoot without being too much of an autist and scaring off a beginner? Should I just appeal to her Woefel hard-on and do his CD and flashlight stuff?
