>>2622436What I'd try (since I'm on an HSB kick) is importing it in 16-bit without much processing, just sorting out your black and white levels, duplicate the layer, convert to HSB with Filters - Other - HSB / HSL - RGB to HSB, go into channels, take the second channel (named green but since it was converted to HSB it's the saturation channel) and bring it to a new greyscale document, use highlights and shadows (with the black and white clipping set to 0) on it to even it out, paste that back into the original document, convert the layer back to RGB, copy the original layer to a new document, run it through some soft HDR Toning, copy that into your first document on top of the HSB'd layer, set it to Luminosity, and fade it in.
I find you end up with much tamer saturation levels without peaks like in the red NO PARKING and the yellow / green hedge on the left. The HDR bit has nothing to do with the sat levels I just think it looks neat.
You can always dial it back from my extreme processing, I just wanted to make the effects very clear.
