Pinholes are loads of fun and can be constructed from trash.
And since they don't look like cameras you won't have blacks trying to rob you of them like the normally would. They're all thugs after all. That's why I'm a national socialist myself.

But you obviously still need to know some of the factors.
Focal length is the distance between the pinhole and the film, but if you bought a pre-made pinhole camera, for some reason, I'm guessing they told you that number already, yes?

Remember to account for reciprocity. That will depend on the film you're using. The manufacturer will often have a chart for it on their website.

Pic related is just a very quick and dirty 35 mm one. I'm sure yours will look much nicer.

If you have a camera with interchangeable lenses you can cut a hole in a body cap and turn it into a pinhole lens. I would still recommend grinding a big hole in the cap and putting a metal pinhole in it rather than just drilling the plastic.

You can use this to quickly get an idea of the exposure, or just test with a digital camera.
