>>4198064I hated them for a long time. I found split prisms much better to use and liked seeing focus change in the vf. Along the way that changed and now I really love using rangefinders. Seeing beyond the frame is super useful. Having a vf that's always in focus is super useful for zone focusing. Having a non-ttl vf is useful for shooting with coloured filters or IR filters. The cameras are much smaller than some of the smaller SLR options, but lenses can be MUCH smaller than their SLR counterparts. That's where size and weight savings come into play.
