Shoot film, you pay $50 for the old ass SLR camera and $50 for a lens if you don't get one with it, pray it doesn't need repairs or a CLA to function properly (gets over $100 quick if it does, ESPECIALLY if the lens ends up needing work). $100 in kit.
Now you are new so you're going to ship color film to a lab. that's about $10 a roll, then another $10 to $15 for developing and scans... before shipping. So you wait about 5 or 10 rolls before you get to see your photos to save that $15 in back and forth shipping. Or you buy developing kit. This is all consumable as well and will set you back a few hundred immediately.
Or you could spend a couple hundred bucks on a camera that will take hundreds of thousands of shots for $0 a snap with no need for anything but battery charging.
