>>3384075Here you can see what it looks like with all the old vulcanite removed. What remains is the old glue, which you need to remove with acetone. Be very careful though, this is a work of patience. Apply acetone to a small area with a q tip to dissolve the glue, then scratch it loose with a blunt screwdriver or (preferably) something softer like a popsicle stick or whatever. Just not scratch the metal finish. It is normal when this process costs like 20-30 q tips or more. When your camera looks something like this, you're done. Note: the Leica III has a matte black finish underneath, another camera may be bare metal or something else. The thing is that all glue needs to be gone.
