People just are not going to hire props/models and equipment for a conceptual piece, or go out and extensively document something.
Landscape photography like this i always thought of as like bird-watching. Like you have a list you're trying to check off, but everyone else also has access to the list. It's not that its devoid of effort, because there's a lot of effort that goes in, its more putting in all that effort and getting something devoid of originality.
I've taken very few 'landscapes', but pic attached I took at the (almost) top of Mt Fuji at sunrise.
