I like this idea, as I've read it, of trying to imitate the subjectivity and emphasis of tone and artifice that is more inherent to disciplines like painting. When I was in my late teens, I experimented quite a bit with using covers for lenses to produce clumsy superimposed images or half-images combined at the center. These could have been done in a dark room, I suppose, though I did not have access to one at the time. In a sense, if I were to inject something of Pictorialism into my current portraiture, I would be revisiting conventions of my first photographic explorations. I'll pseudo-dox myself by posting a few in this thread. No claims to value in this content other than to portray my own development in aesthetics.
