As a GR owner I can tell you it's just okay handheld at night. The f2.8 lens doesn't suck in light like an f1.4 might. You need to be creative and look for well lit scenes with patches of dark. The GR III has IBIS so it's probably better than my camera.

I think Ricoh said themselves that the GR flash wasn't a popular feature so they removed it in order to make the GR III smaller. Luckily we have the Flash Q20 and other tiny wireless flashes we can use. It's not a big deal.
