>>4245142>>ir mentioned they believe water ingress was from standing water pooled on the top plate, something that wouldn't happen in the real worldHow the FUCK would top plate water pooling not be an issue in the real world? Holy cope. Do you have to turn the camera upside down periodically to empty the cup that is the top plate? Wouldn't you have to do this every few seconds in a heavy rainstorm or snowstorm? Is it considered normal to rapidly, repeatedly flip your Sony upside down in the rain and drain it? So much for burst shooting. I guess a tripod or mono pod is also out of the question.
You also conveniently ignore that it was the mist test that killed the A7R III. The MIST TEST. Water in the battery compartment from pooling on the top plate isn't what killed it. Mist getting water all over the internals killed it. It had water on the fucking shutter blades by the end of that test. And it took days to dry out and work again. Hope it doesn't corrode.
>We can get empirical data for this quickly and easily from eBay used sales for digital camerasLMFAO you're as dumb about statistics as you are about weather sealing. You can't control for dozens of confounding factors on eBay, therefore you can't tell anything from a snapshot of their sales. Today it's one percentage. Next week it will be completely different.
>You have to remember they sell many more milc's, Canon is the #1 ILC manufacturer.
>and have done for many more yearsCanon and Nikon have been doing this since WWII.
