The sad truth is, unless you're a Mozart-like prodigy born with innate skills that have been impressing everyone since your childhood, you're probably not getting anywhere without knowing how to market yourself to the right people. It sucks, especially if you're an introvert, but I don't think there's any way around it in the film industry desu.
