>>4186712>I meant to say that Fuji doesn't offer Bayer and Xtrans as equal offerings, father Bayer is used for their cheapest consumer models while Xtrans is for the prosumer stuff.GFX series cameras use bayer sensors because it's better. The cheaper ones use it because they're off the shelf parts.
Their xtrans cameras have always been leaning hard towards video and film emulation, which is where the xtrans tradeoff between absolute detail and the character of the noise matters the most, but if they really want to be the poor man's leica they're going to have to use bayer or a new CFA that maintains the more random character while returning to a 2x2 grid to enable the slightly more accurate demosaicing that is giving their competition an edge in sharpness without needing to take a 40mp picture and then downsample out the 14 added megapixels to fix it.
I'm betting on bayer on the xpro if ever because anything but instax and printer paper is a rounding error for their budget
